He followed too close behind a large sting ray, one that happened to be big enough to have a stinger spike that could kill him, and apparently spooked it into defending itself. Unfortunately, by one of those weird quirks of fate, the eight+ inch stinger struck him directly in the heart. <\/p>\n
He was passionate, dedicated, and fearless. He died doing a dangerous job that he loved and knew needed to be done, educating the world about wildlife.<\/p>\n
