{"id":128,"date":"2007-01-04T19:07:22","date_gmt":"2007-01-05T00:07:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/neopagan.net\/blog\/?p=128"},"modified":"2007-01-04T19:12:46","modified_gmt":"2007-01-05T00:12:46","slug":"alternet-americas-holy-warriors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/neopagan.net\/blog\/2007\/01\/04\/alternet-americas-holy-warriors\/","title":{"rendered":"AlterNet: America&#8217;s Holy Warriors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.alternet.org\/story\/46211\/\">AlterNet: America&#8217;s Holy Warriors<\/a> is a story by Chris Hedges, author of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/ISBN%3D0743284437\/isaacbonewits\/\"><i>American Fascists: The Christian Right and the War on America.<\/i><\/a> The book and the essay are both well worth reading, especially by those who think my essays on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.neopagan.net\/ReligiousReich.html\">the Religious Reich<\/a> are &#8220;over the top.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>They really do want to create an American theocracy and they are building an army of their own (including the Blackwater mercenaries) while infiltrating and subverting the American military and police forces. <\/p>\n<p>Also at AlterNet is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.alternet.org\/waroniraq\/46262\">War on Iraq: Ten Things I Learned from the Pentagon&#8217;s Prayer Team,<\/a> by Jeff Sharlet.
