SNOCAP Demolishes my mp3 Sales

Friday, February 26th, 2010

SNOCAP’s vanishing act has meant that all the links I had here at neopagan.net to sell my mp3s vanished as well. They hadn’t sold very well, anyway. So now I need to find another way to sell my music.

It will be a few weeks until I can remove all the SNOCAP links, since my web weaving software vanished when my main ‘puter crashed. Just ignore them for now.

1001 Students, Online Chats, and We’re #1 Again!

Saturday, March 22nd, 2008

Tonight we passed a milestone with Real Magic School — we now have 1001 students who have signed up for our classes in Pagan and General Occult Studies!

We will be doing bi-weekly online chats at the school. The next one is March 26, from 9:00 to 10:00 pm EDT. Of course, you do have to be a registered student to attend … :-)

In other news, Bonewits’s Essential Guide to Druidism has been revisiting #1 territory for books on Druidism at Amazon.com. It’s been in the top ten books on the topic for weeks now, so if you haven’t checked it out, you might find it a perfect purchase for the aspiring Druid.

Friday, January 25th, 2008

We’ve got some really exciting news coming up soon about new projects, so stay tuned! These are going to allow more interaction with our readers and fans than ever before, with all the technical stuff being handled by people who are actually up-to-date with their skills and equipment (unlike your poor, befuddled curmudgeons here).

Yes, the webcam experiments are part of it, along with pirates, soothsaying, teaching, sci-fi fandom, New Agers, wedding bells, My Space, energy exercises, music, and more!

Let the speculations begin! :)

We’re #1!!!

Saturday, December 29th, 2007

At 2:00 pm EST on Saturday December 29th, 2007 Bonewits’s Essential Guide to Druidism was the number one book in sales at Amazon.com for the category of Druidism! Meanwhile, Neopagan Rites: A Guide to Creating Public Rituals that Work was at #10 in the Paganism list (#43 in books on magic), The Pagan Man was at #13 in Paganism, and Real Energy was at #99 in energy-healing books.

Yes, we know that the numbers change hourly, but we’re still thrilled to have a #1 bestseller at Amazon, even if it is in an obscure category. Oddly enough, Real Magic is sometimes listed as one of the top 100 books in alchemy! Perhaps if more people suggested “magic” as a tag, RM would be listed in that category.

Alas, these book sales numbers won’t improve our current wretched financial situation for a couple of years, as it takes time for royalties to accumulate. However, good sales of these titles will make it easier for us to publish new ones in the future, and will encourage our current publishers to keep titles like Bonewits’s Essential Guide to Witchcraft and Wicca in print (there’s some danger of it going OOP unless people snap up the used ones for sale at Amazon and the new ones in stores).

[Update: 24 hours later, BEGD was still on top as #1 in Druidism, #2 in Tribal and Ethnic, and #3 in Celtic books—whoo hoo!]

So our thanks to everyone whose been buying our books! And now, a Stephen Colbert moment:

We’re #1!!!

Offline for a few days

Tuesday, December 11th, 2007

If you are sending us email or waiting for new blog posts, you may have to wait a while. We will be offline for a few days due to financial difficulties. If you’d like to see us back up and flying sooner, there is a “Donate” link to the right.

In other news, Merlin of Amulets by Merlin fame tells me he has my entire line of Pagan jewelry designs in stock, in both silver and “nu-gold” bronze, ready to ship within 48 hours of receiving your orders. Surprise someone for Yule with their very own Druid Sigil, Oak Awen, or Dagda’s Club!

I’ve received a box of Neopagan Rites from Llewellyn and will be shipping out the pre-publication orders on Friday.

Neopagan Rites now Shipping from Amazon!

Saturday, December 1st, 2007

I am delighted to notice that Amazon.com has now started shipping copies of my latest work, Neopagan Rites: A Guide to Creating Public Rituals that Work! I should have a box of them myself in a week or two and will mail out the pre-ordered autographed copies that people ordered directly from us. At that point, all the direct orders of products from our website will be filled, except for music CDs which are on their way to us now.

I’ve already been asked by Llewellyn to check a copy of Neopagan Rites for typos to be corrected in the second printing, which it seems they must be already planning! That’s a sign of good sales, so thanks to all of you who have pre-ordered copies online and from your local stores. And yes, I will be doing the weekend and weeklong seminars on liturgy based on the new edition.

Book and Jewelry Orders on their Ways

Saturday, November 17th, 2007

I’ve just finished packing up all but one of the current book orders and all but three of the jewelry orders. All the remaining orders (including CDs) will go out sometime within the next two weeks. As of now, all future orders for our stuff should go to the production websites:

Books: Amazon.com

Jewelry: Amulets by Merlin

Music CDs and Lecture Tapes: Association for Consciousness Exploration

Graphics for Bumperstickers, Mugs, Posters, Mousepads, Tshirts, Hats, etc.: CafePress

Isaac’s Jewelry Designs to Arrive Sooner

Saturday, November 10th, 2007

All of my designs of Pagan and Druidic symbols are now available directly from my silversmith Merlin of Amulets by Merlin fame. As with autographed books, I’ll bring copies to festivals and speaking gigs, but all the online orders will now go to Merlin, who is ten times more businesslike than I am!

So from now on, people who want to order my jewelry designs should go to Isaac’s Page at Amulets by Merlin.

Neopagan Rites

Thursday, November 8th, 2007

Copies of the earlier edition of this book, Rites of Worship, are selling for as much as $250 via Amazon.com’s used book dealers. Why pay that kind of money when you can pre-order the new edition at Amazon.com or BarnesandNobel.com?

If you or someone you know leads public rituals on a regular basis, or even if you or they are contemplating doing one for the first time, this is the book that will make your ceremonies powerful, dramatic, effective, and satisfying.
Neopagan Rites includes a new chapter on the use of music and poetry in rituals, as well as additional materials on the safe and effective use of fire or fire substitutes.

For reviews of the previous edition, see our Books Page.

With a little luck, the new edition will be shipping in time for Yule-tide giving (though you might want to specify gift-wrapping and having it shipped directly to the recipient).

Solstice is the Reason

Thursday, November 8th, 2007

It’s time to order your holiday gift cards from my CafePress.com store! These “Happy Hanakwayulmas” greetings are available as regular folding cards or as postcards, along with buttons, t-shirts, gift boxes and more.

The text on both card types reads: “All hail the Return of the Light!! Happy Hannukah, Glad Yule, Merry Christmas, Festive Saturnalia, Good Kwanzaa, and a Happy Secular New Year to you and your family!”

If I get firm commitments from a dozen people in the next two weeks, I will have three-foot square outdoor banners made of the main graphic, so you can put them up in your town squares next to the nativity scenes and menorahs. These may cost you $50 or more, but think of how annoyed the Religious Right in your town will be!
