Neopagan Rites now Shipping from Amazon!

I am delighted to notice that Amazon.com has now started shipping copies of my latest work, Neopagan Rites: A Guide to Creating Public Rituals that Work! I should have a box of them myself in a week or two and will mail out the pre-ordered autographed copies that people ordered directly from us. At that point, all the direct orders of products from our website will be filled, except for music CDs which are on their way to us now.

I’ve already been asked by Llewellyn to check a copy of Neopagan Rites for typos to be corrected in the second printing, which it seems they must be already planning! That’s a sign of good sales, so thanks to all of you who have pre-ordered copies online and from your local stores. And yes, I will be doing the weekend and weeklong seminars on liturgy based on the new edition.

    I ordered this book together with The Pagan Man (for my partner, who would like to run a male spirituality circle) and Guide to Druidism (just because).

    I am anxious to read it – as a prospective Grove Organizer I need to master the priceless skill to lead good rituals (and I have no opportunity to learn from others, because nearest Grove from here is in Hampshire, UK, some 500+ miles far!)

    Once our group is set up and flourishing, we could organize a fund raising for “the founding father” of ADF! Folks were sympathetic when I translated for them how is the situation of American Pagan clergy bad.

    Blessings to You and Your spouses, Isaac!

    Thanks so much Noira, although I only have one spouse currently! 🙂

    You’re not that far from the original heartland of the Celts, so perhaps you’ll find the local spirits helpful in inspiring your practice.

  3. Noira says:

    Actually one of the biggest uncovered Celtic oppida was Zavist, a Prague´s suburb. Here the German, Celtic and Slavi ethnics melted.

    I´ve been to the oppida, but didn´t feel much. It was too long ago. Anyway, this land is very special to me and I am not leaving it!

    Though in reality local spirits and historical monuments matter less for a Pagan life than having a good Pagan community, networking, organizations.. etc. which we don´t have. So we draw from New World ADF, a historical irony one might say.

  4. ibonewits says:

    You might try organizing a “Pagans in the Pub” meeting on a weekly or biweekly basis. These kinds of purely social gatherings are an important component in creating local Pagan communities.

  5. Noira says:

    We already have such events, unfortunately drinking and socializing does not make one a practicing Pagan, so people are getting hungry for something “serious”. (All groups I have known have disbanded recently.) So I have a half dozen of prospective members now even though the Protogrove hasn´t been approved yet!

    In fact I am an olde crabby hag at my age of 20, who is abstinent and fond of moralizing 😉 so I am not enthusiastic at all about pub moots.

    BTW I sent You an offer to redesign / optimalize / help with Your website for FREE or non-monetary compensation in September, but to my sadness nobody responded. Just write that You are not interested, I am unsure if You got the email.

    Really?!? We’d be thrilled to have someone do it, especially if you can design it so we can update it with DreamWeaver or some other Mac webdesign program. It’s so old-fashioned looking — but then it does go back to the stone age (1996).

    We get enormous amounts of spam every day, so your email may have been eaten by the spam filters.

    Old crabby hag at 20????? LOL, that’s a sad state to be in so young. We’re young, rowdy upstarts in our late 50s, ourselves…

    I work in bare HTML (PSPad), which allows me to have maximum control over the contents, WYSIWYG editors usually produce poor code. I also do graphics. I understand You´d like to be able to update it on Your own, I dunno much about Mac software, but sure there would be some way.

    Reconstruction would sure bring You more visitors, more attention from the search engines, it would make the website more accessible etc.

    These are websites I have done recently:
    * http://www.harneytea.cz (commercial)
    * http://zrcadlo.mysteria.cz/index2.php (a Pagan one)

    Let´s discuss it on email, please drop me a line at noira@centrum.cz and add my adress to the spam filter first 😉

    As to myself feeling old, I always did, I am looking forward for my long white hair and scaring neighbourhood kids 😀
